Schadow Scores Three Up The Straight

Tuesday Meeting
On another terrific day weather wise, it was Ron Schadow who had an awesome day up the straight, with three of his ‘Victa’ team getting up, which gave Ron a training treble. Victa Val (Flying Ricciardo x Victa Polly) was the first of the three to win, breaking her maiden over the 300m trip. From box two, it was pretty comfortable work for the brindle bitch as she strolled straight to the early lead and set up a margin midrace. At no point was she in any trouble, as she went on to win by 2 lengths in 17.13, ahead of the littermate Victa Chrissy. In the next race, it was another littermate in the form of Victa Gary who made it a perfect start to the day for Ron, as he overcame some early bumping to win from box four in 17.68. With things going so well, it seemed obvious that Victa Mick was going to get and ensure it was a perfect day, which of course he did. In what was his first run in a few months, he had box six over the 300m journey which isn’t always easy, especially when you jump last, like the blue dog did! Despite this, he picked himself up and revved through the gears midrace, taking a gap in the middle of the field and charging to the front, before going on to win in 17.06, which was a pretty impressive win! A great day out for Ron and his team and always good to see him finding success!

Nicole Price had a good day up the straight as well, claiming a training double for the day. Oakvale Outlaw started a red hot favourite from box two over the short trip and after he jumped cleanly, the result was inevitable. After setting up a huge lead midrace, he continued to storm away before winning in a completely airborne 16.43, which was easily the quickest of the day! Boots then lined up from box four over the same distance and repeated the dose. He came out the boxes okay, but did have to work hard to get to the front, but once there he was in complete control, winning in 17.10 and making it a nice day out for Nicole!

 Friday Meeting
It was a cooler afternoon at The Bridge as we saw some Victorian’s venture over for a look at the track before heats of the cup which are just around the corner.

Tony Hinrichsen picked up a double for the day, with a couple of handy winners in his team. Loving The Cash made a deserving return to the winners list, after getting the job done from box three over the 395m trip. It was a quick start for the brindle bitch, as she took an early lead as they went into the turn. Holding a length lead around the turn, she was being pressured, but kept on responding, before sticking it out to win by half a length in 22.77. The inform Supreme Sword then took out the next race, causing a bit of an upset. From box six, he came out slowly over the short trip and looked in a bit of trouble, but quickly accelerated into the turn. Despite going wide on the turn, he really lengthened stride and started to storm down the outside, before winning by a head in a thriller, with a time of 22.64. He’s going very well at the moment, this boy!

The Mount Gambier based Tracie Price also had a double for the day, with a couple of younger chasers putting together slick performances. The highly promising Myall Mate was the first, as he had his first look at the track. From box three over the 455m distance, he stepped a bit slowly, but very quickly picked up the pace and charged to the lead. Around the turn, he led by a few lengths and was looking good. Despite getting a bit tired, he did more than enough and won in a handy 25.89, which is a good run for a first look. I would suspect that he will be lining up in the cup heats! Wild Banker then had box five over the short trip and despite stepping half a length slowly, he quickly pushed his way to the front and found the lead. It was light work up the straight as he ran away from the others, winning in a sharp 22.35 and giving Tracie a nice drive back home!
